What we are doing:
- We will run zoom classes at the same time as regular classes, so students who are uncomfortable coming in for classes or isolating can still participate at home.
- Teachers will come to the front door of the studio to allow students out of the studio. We will then disinfect all barres, door handles, bathroom fixtures and equipment between classes, as recommended by the CDC. Teachers will then come to the front door to allow students from the next class to enter. Due to the need to disinfect between every class, your classes might start about 5 min late. This is for your safety and the safety of your children.
- If cell phones are brought into the studio, we will supply plastic bags to place them in, and the sealed plastic bags containing their phone will be put on the designated table before class. After the phones are claimed at the end of class, the table will be disinfected prior to use for the next class.
- We have expanded our dance floor and have clearly marked spaces for each child, and will specially mark places for their bags to make it easier to maintain social distancing.
- We will carefully monitor our classes for any symptoms of fatigue or overheating, and encourage dancers to take breaks as necessary. We will encourage dancers to stop and rest if they feel dizzy, imbalanced or fatigued during classes.
- Alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be available inside the front door, inside the dance room, and inside the restroom for anyone who needs it.
What you need to do:
- If your child is running a fever, has a cough, sore throat, runny nose or congestion, or has vomited in the last 24 hours, please keep them home. No one should be in the studio with an active cough or sneeze, even from allergies.
- The lobby will be closed to parents until Louisiana has reached phase 4 of reopening. Dancers waiting for their next class or rehearsal time and parents waiting to pick up their dancer should wait in their car.
- All students and teachers must sanitize or wash their hands before entering the studio.
- Limit the number of personal belongings students bring into the studio. This includes cell phones if not needed, extra changes of clothes, food or drink if not needed, and extra bags.
- Masks are required in the lobby and during dance classes for all dancers 8 years old and up. Masks are encouraged for beginners and advanced beginners regardless of age.
- If your child has a medical condition that prevents the wearing of a face covering, please contact us and we will make accommodations on a case-by-case basis.
- Every dancer should do their best not to remove their mask during class or rehearsal. If they feel dizzy, imbalance or fatigued, we encourage them to stop and rest to avoid overheating.
- If they do need to remove their mask:
- Fold the mask so the inside is protected and place it on the side of you.
- Replace the mask before leaving your spot.
- Wash hands and/or use an alcohol based hand sanitizer letting it dry for 30 seconds before resuming activity.
- All reusable masks should be cleaned ideally in a washer with hot water and soap and then dried in a dryer prior to next use. Ironing on the highest setting can also disinfect after washing and drying.
